I like to think of myself as an over-educated mountain man. I grew up in the shadows of the Rockies before moving to Europe for several extended stints. I am a career scientist at an executive level, swimming in both the technical and policy worlds, where scientific reality confronts the fickle nature of social expectations. I am an avid fan of military history, and hold advanced belts in several martial arts, including a blackbelt in Krav Maga. I am equally happy yielding a chainsaw on my family's property in the mountains of northern New Mexico, or dialoguing with ChatGPT, in an attempt to untangle the abstractions of great philosophers.
